Check out South Hornby School's littlest rockers. We are learning a new song to perform to the school at the end of the year. This year we have learnt to play the f chord and the c chord, we use the coloured dots to help us put our fingers in the correct places.

Ice cream sundaes
Room 2 and 3 made ice cream sundaes. First we scooped our ice cream, next we covered it in strawberry and chocolate sauce, then we added sprinkles. After that we ate them and we wrote some wonderful stories. These ice cream sundaes helped us use adjectives in our story writing. We wrote words like yummy, scrumptious and delicious to describe our ice creams.

Story writing
Here is some story writing from Room 2 this morning. We hope you like it.
Orca whales and seals are different because seals have fur and whales have skin.
Tylah
Look at the tractor. I like tractors.
Alex
Look at the castle. I like castles.
Erin
Orca whales and seals are different because seals have whiskers and orca whales don't have whiskers.
Oscar
Orca whales and seals are similar because they both have sharp teeth.

Antarctic Centre
The Junior syndicate was lucky enough to visit the International Antarctic Centre today. We learnt a lot about the Emperor Penguin, saw real penguins up close, watched a 4D movie and got to experience a snow storm. A big thank you to the Red Cross who sponsored the trip, our children took a lot away from the experience. I also want to thank our awesome parent helpers who came along, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
