Book Character Day

Today is Book Character Day! We all put so much effort into our costumes. Thanks to our parents who got our children ready for today,  they look wonderful!

Penguin Acrostic Poem

As you all know, Room 2 have been looking closely at Antarctica over the past few weeks. On Tuesday and Wednesday some of the Room 2 children wrote acrostic poems about Penguins. The children did an amazing job with their writing. Here they are.

Not good at flying

Good at swimming

Under the ice

I know that penguins can get eaten

Antarctica cake

Room 2 was spoilt today! Josh' s lovely Mum made us an Antarctic cake as a special treat. Josh and his big brother helped decorate it. Yum!!!

The Emperor Penguin

Room 2 have been learning about the Emperor Penguin. We drew penguins and wrote stories about them. Here are Keah's and Hollie's work, enjoy!

Sam Smiler Badge

Congratulations to Arie! He was the first person to earn his Sam Smiler badge in Room 2. Arie earned his badge by consistently showing his South Hornby School Values. Keep working hard!

Antarctic Centre

The Junior syndicate was lucky enough to visit the International Antarctic Centre today. We learnt a lot about the Emperor Penguin, saw real penguins up close, watched a 4D movie and got to experience a snow storm. A big thank you to the Red Cross who sponsored the trip, our children took a lot away from the experience. I also want to thank our awesome parent helpers who came along, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Ukulele

Every Thursday afternoon Room 2 has a ukulele lesson. We have learnt F chord and C chord by placing our fingers on the coloured dots. Here we are performing This Old Man.Enjoy!
